Patch 4.0.3a was launched November 23 at 4pm. The main point of it was to change azeroth's appearance. That is why this patch was entitled The Shattering. Other main features of the patch where the new race class combos, the new gnome and troll starting areas, the reputation tabard system, the new hunter pets, the druids, shammys, and pallies had their talents reset I believe to smooth out some of the edges of the specs, the inspect bug was fix which anyone who was aware of the bug knew that it was probably one of the most annoying bugs in quite a while, and lastly the amount of experience needed to get from 71-80 was dropped by 20%. I've got a lot to cover!
Lets start with the main feature of the patch, the old world changes. I was honestly shocked about the amount of change the patch did. Not in the way you probably think. I was actually shocked that there wasn't that much change. They only areas that had a significant amount of change to them where The Barrens, Thousand Needles, and the Badlands. As far as capital cities go only Orgrimmar really had a noticeable change to it. Garrosh Hellscream is the new warlord of Orgrimmar. I'm not saying that i didn't like the change I just would have liked more ^=^. I never want to just have a negative view on everything in the game so I must say that the changes made to Orgrimmar are really cool. It's pretty weird and confusing getting around but I'm sure we'll get used to it.
The new starting areas are out! The trolls now start on the Darkspear Isles and the gnomes will start in gnomeregan. Personally I am a fan of this and I am surprised that I have actually met several people who do not like this. I am not sure why you wouldn't like the new starting areas but I guess some people just don't.
The new race class combos are as follows.
* Human Hunter
* Orc Mage
* Night Elf Mage
* Blood Elf Warrior
* Dwarf Shaman
* Dwarf Mage
* Undead Hunter
* Tauren Paladin
* Tauren Priest
* Gnome Priest
* Troll Druid
I am very interested in these changes and i'll tell you why. As a tauren I wonder, pallies and priests? Where did that come from? Taurens are supposed to be tribal nomadic people and pallies and priests believe in the holy stuff of azeroth. Shammys and druids believe in like spirits and stuff. I have heard it makes a lot more sense if you read the lore but I am not a huge lore reader. Likewise dwarfs can now be shammys same issue. I have mixed emotions on troll druids, there seems to be some tension between the two types of druids. I side with the taurens because I am loyal, but i've got to admit though their feral forms look sick. That pretty much covers all my interests and concerns about the new race class combos.
When I first heard about the new tabard reputation system I was not a fan at all. I thought actually though it would bring anarchy to the race specific mounts. I thought it would take about one hour to get exalted with a faction, but when the patch came out I tried it. I thought it work really well. It takes a good amount of effort to get your exalted title but not so much effort that it is impossible. I have gotten exalted with Undercity since the patch and am almost to exalted Bilgewater Cartel.
The new pets where highly anticipated by hunters. The new types of pets are foxes, dogs, beetles, and monkeys. Foxes and doges fall under the ferocity talent tree while monkeys are cunning and beetles are tenacity. Overall they have stats similar to all the other pets in the game they just look really cool and are a nice addition to the pet armory of WoW.
THE INSPECT BUG IS FIXED!!! Thank god. That was literally the most annoying thing ever. If you did not realize there was a bug that many people experienced including me that made it so people couldn't use their inspect feature. Well that is all done and over with. The bug was officially fixed in 4.0.3a.
And my last point in this review of patch 4.0.3a will be the decrease in experience needed to get from 71-80 by 20%. Not the most controversial topic but i just wanted to tell you guys my main dinged 80 3 or 4 days before the experience needed dropped, how ironic. Oh well just glad to be 80.
And in my closing paragraph I have a question for you guys. How did you like my first post and my channel so far please leave me a comment or email me at auldricks@yahoo.com. That's it guys thanks for reading and i'll talk to you in my next post.
